The Challenge

In the past, the structure of sound settings feels very confined
with limited choices.
To better target more diversedemographics,
we should design a product that is alive, evolves with the user,
and has multiple colors.

How can we encorage user to play with diversity ringtones?

The Approach

Providing a platform that can support an unlimited choice of ringtones and better navigate method for users to browse and explore ringtone quickly, and better reflect company and brand.

Design Thinking

SKETCHING TO WIREFRAMING

Looking into some trend design and different ringtone apps, I started to sketch out potential solutions that I would run by a few colleagues to make sure some of these concepts make sense, and to make sure it is solving the problem.

REVIEW AND SANITY CHECK

After creating numerous iterations to the wireframe we agreed on a design that looked promising. We did a review with stakeholders to make sure everyone agreed with our vision and to give any more feedback before we tested the design.

FEEDBACK

• Too much empty space for the currently set area
• Long tile design is hard to showcase imagery
• Scale down font size
• Think about how to emphasize the visualize experience

Visual Design

After couple rounds of iteration, I started to finalize the UI styles while I put together interaction specifications for our development team.

To make a cohesive experence through the entire platform, and parallel with goal from hardwear team (Human, Nature, Touchable). We laned on one of wallpapers that really showcase this feeling that we want to delivey to our users.

SPECS FOR IMPLEMENTATION

Provided specs to engineers for implementation, and worked closely with them for any bugs and requirements.

LAUNCH

The product was launched in December 2018, and after launch, many places were talking about the application, I was so happy to work on this fun project that can bring more engaging experience to our users and really reflect the company and brand.
